Amidst "layoffs for restructuring", Bolt wants to hire a country manager in Nigeria

Bolt, the ride-hailing company, has achieved 1 billion rides in Africa, seven years after it launched operations in South Africa. The company currently operates in seven African countries and has over 47 million customers and 900,000 drivers on its platform. The company has laid off 17 of its 70 employees in Nigeria due to a restructuring, but it is hiring for top management roles, including country manager and sales manager. Bolt secured $711m in funding last year, and recently announced it would be investing $500m in African operations over the next two years, including creating opportunities for over 300,000 new drivers and couriers. Bolt is expanding its operations, focusing on driver education, electronic vehicles, and passenger safety. Bolt has also partnered with Flance to provide drivers with affordable healthcare, and with Credpal to launch a ride now, pay later offering for customers. Bolt is looking for a country manager to drive existing collaborations and ensure the growth of Bolt Business and Bolt Foods.
